HAVANA, Cuba.- Puerto Rican independence leader Oscar Lopez Rivera thanked Cuba and its people for all the support given to the campaign for his freedom, achieved definitively this Wednesday, Prensa Latina agency said.

During a phone talk with Fernando Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Lopez Rivera confirmed he will visit Cuba next November to repay the support offered to his cause.

In the phone, conversation held at ICAP headquarters Gonzalez ex ICAP, pressed to the Puerto Rican fighter the heartfelt joy of hearing him again, as both were cellmates in the United States.

Gonzalez congratulated the Puerto Rican people and said there are many in the world who rejoice with Oscar Lopez´s freedom. He also expressed his confidence Lopez Rivera will continue contributing to the struggle for the decolonization of his country.
