HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, received this Monday King Mswati III of Esuatini, also known as Swaziland, at the Palace of the Revolution.

Prior to the official welcome ceremony and official conversations, His Majesty honored Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ana Teresita Gonzalez.

Cuba and Swaziland established diplomatic relations on September 22, 1995, and ten years later the island’s medical cooperation began, answering a personal request from the King to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, during his visit to Cuba that year.

Esuatini is located in the southeastern African continent, between the Republic of South Africa and Mozambique.
