Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel exchanged on Monday with entrepreneurs of his country, in a tour of the 4th Business Fair being held in ExpoCuba, in this capital.

In a visit to the stand of the Business Group of the Iron and Steel Mechanical Industry (GESIME), the Cuban leader shared with executives on substituting imports and productive chains, key elements for enhancing Cuban economy.

The encounter will conclude next Friday, and gathers over 432 companies from both State and private enterprenurialship, with the purpose of promoting relations between the economic actors of the nation.

Initiated on May 20, the Fair has among its fundamental objectives to identify the existing potentials in the domestic market with a view to reduce the country’s import dependency.

According to the organizers, the fulfillment of this economic principle leads to greater dynamism to tourism, foreign investment and trade.

In that sense, Economy Minister Alejandro Gil said that by 2020 a more flexible economic plan is foreseen and to encourage greater participation of productive centers.
