CIENFUEGOS, Cuba. – The incorporation of modern sugar cane planting equipment in Cienfuegos will increase the plantations that reach ten thousand hectares every year.

The new technology includes seeding machine, and fertilizer-cultivators that humanize work of farmers, higher productive levels and quality in the cultural attention to the grass.

Joaquin Vasallo, deputy director of the Provincial Sugar Company in Cienfuegos, reported that the four Chinese fertilizer-cultivators provide services in sugar cane plantations since the beginning of the year, and two of them are in test phase in Ciudad Caracas sugar mill in Lajas municipality.

Technician Rogelio Santana emphasized that with one of the modern tractors they carry out more daily activities in the field due to the functions incorporated to their commanding board, far superior to the previous ones.
