New Delhi, India.- Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will pay tribute in Santiago de Cuba to the late Cuban leader, Fidel Castro Ruz, during his trip to the island from June 21 to 22.

Before arriving in Havana, the Cuban capital, Kovind will place a wreath on the grave of a person who is considered a friend of India, Fidel Castro, whose remains rest in the second city of Cuba, in the eastern part of Cuba.

Friend of the people and the leaders of India, Fidel visited the South Asian giant on two occasions during which he held meetings with its top leaders, in particular with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Ram Nath Kovind will then hold a meeting in Havana with the newly elected Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, who visited India as first vice president of the Caribbean nation in March 2015.

Also, Kovind will also place a wreath before the Monument of the National Hero of Cuba José Martí, in the Plaza de la Revolución de La Habana.
