HAVANA, Cuba. – Cuban Minister of Public Health Roberto Morales and vice-ministers checked the operation of the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology (INOR), after the fire happened there on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the director of INOR, Dr. Luis Curbelo reported that the hospital is working with 101 beds in vital services such as intensive therapy and oncology and oncopediatrics medicine rooms, and the process of repair is undertaken in the damaged areas.

He explained that 83 patients of INOR, mainly surgical, were admitted to Hermanos Ameijeiras and Manuel Fajardo Hospitals, and the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, all located in Havana.

Dr. Curbelo highlighted that the area of outpatient chemotherapy was severely affected, so the service was moved to Room 2 of international medical care
