Guantanamo, Cuba.- With the support of brigades from the Company of Telecommunications of Cuba (ETECSA) the restoration of telephony in the Eastern Cuban province of Guantanamo is progressing, after Hurricane Matthew.
Juan Montes de Oca is the head of all those ETECSA brigades, which work for long hours to restore communications in the municipalities of Baracoa, Maisí, Imias, and San Antonio de el Sur.

Montes de Oca said that brigades from the central provinces of Cienfuegos and Sancti Spíritus work in the restoration of the optical fiber service in the village of Jamal, which provides to other four, and the rest of the force works in the connection of other institutions.

He added the damages detected in the Eastern part of Guantanamo cannot be compared to similar events, because of the terrible shatterings in the zone.
