HAVANA, Cuba. – In its plea “History Will Absolve Me” eternal Commander Fidel Castro Ruz, besides denouncing the crimes committed by Batista´s dictatorship, exposed his revolutionary political program.

He raised the six punctual issues in the then-oppressed Cuba: the land problem, industrialization, housing, unemployment, health and education, all of them solved later with the triumphant revolution.

In the case of the eradication of illiteracy, it was achieved thanks to Fidel’s extraordinary ability to mobilize and stimulate thousands of young people throughout the country.

This admirable mission allowed Cuba to declare itself a territory free of illiteracy, as early as December 22, 1961.
