HAVANA, Cuba. – This Wednesday the International Congress of Researchers on Youth, at Convention Palace, focus edits attention on familiar contexts, sexuality and gender.

At the meeting, specialists from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Israel, Mexico and Cuba addressed the challenges of responsible motherhood and paternity, reproductive sexual health and gender roles.

During the International Congress of Researchers on Youth, several workshops were held, including Healthy masculinities, a responsibility of all, by Dr. Ramon Rivero Pino, from the Medical Genetics Center.

The meeting called attention to the negative impact of the hegemonic model of masculinities, marked by prejudices of machismo, which affects the physical and emotional well-being of men.

Researchers in the World Continue to Socialize about Youth

The delegates to the International Congress of Researchers on Youth, in its third working day, participated in Havana in symposia on topics such as educational processes and formation of values, culture, identity and recreation, as well as on the use of new technologies.

Attendees could witness the special panels titled Women and Gender: 20 years of Scientific Results, and Cuban Experience of FAO-IFAD Regional Project, to encourage young people’s access to employment in the agricultural sector.

The third International Congress of Researchers on Youth seeks to agree on an academic discourse that contributes to improve effective public policies for the integral development of young people.
