HAVANA Cuba. – The Cuban preselection of high school students to compete in international knowledge competitions next July, receive this Thursday the Cuban flag in Jose Marti Memorial in the Revolution Square.

On behalf of the delegation, Carmen Cabrera, student in Vladimir Ilyich Lenin High School, referred to the importance of Fidel’s legacy regarding the need to have men of science.

The competitions will be held in Thailand, Iran, Brazil and Indonesia, in the subjects of Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Informatics and Chemistry, officials of the Cuban Ministry of Education reported.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Margarita McPherson said such events are very opportune for knowledge exchange, as well as stimulating in young people the study of exact sciences.
