SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba.- Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, accompanies the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, on a tour of Santiago de Cuba as part of the State visit made by the Vietnamese leader to the island.

When they descended the ladder of the aircraft at the Antonio Maceo International Airport, both leaders were welcomed by Jose Ramon Balaguer, head of International Relations of the Central Committee.

Then Cuban President Raul Castro and the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam exchanged greetings with Vietnamese and Cuban university students.

On his third day of stay in Cuba the distinguished visitor will also place a floral offering to the national hero of Cuba, Jose Marti in the Cemetery of St. Iphigenia

It is also planned to visit the former Moncada Barracks, one of the sites related to the struggles that led to the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959.
