GUANTANAMO, Cuba.- In recognition of the work sustained by the Guantanamo Chapter of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba (UNJC) for more than six years, the national act for the day of the legal worker and the anniversary 41 of the organization is held in this Eastern province.

The meeting at the Guaso Theater will recognize several distinguished jurists and groups in their social commission and in the activities of the organization. It will also be officially delivered the document accrediting Guantanamo as the most outstanding province in 2017.

A special moment will be the delivery of the Forever in the Memory provincial award to Masters of Sciences Anselmo Pachebat Bueno and Rolando Cortes Vazquez, for their outstanding trajectory.

Professionals with relevant contributions to scientific production, the participation in the election process and the work of impulse to community projects will be recognized too. .

The military Prosecutor’s Office and the Guantanamo Region Military Tribunal will also be awarded together with the Provincial People’s Tribunal and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, institutions that have accompanied UNJC´s work since its creation.

The Legal Worker Day was instituted in Cuba as a tribute to independence leader Ignacio Agramonte and Loynaz who on June 8, 1865 presented his thesis in option of the title of Licentiate in Civil and Canonical Law.
