United Nations, New York .- Cuba denounced this Tuesday in the United Nations the validity of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States and its extraterritorial scope, recently expressed in a fine to a Canadian subsidiary of American Honda Finance Corporation.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed the company a fine for a value of 87 thousand $255 dollars, for violating the regulations of the US blockade against Cuba.

The diplomatic representation indicates that the sanction responds to the subsidiary’s approval and financing of 13 car rental agreements between the Cuban embassy in the USA and a Honda dealership in Ottawa, between 2011 and 2014.

This is the first fine of its kind under the Administration of Republican president Donald Trump, who arrived on January 20 at the White House
