Meeting to check progress of investments in agricultural sector.

Valdes Mesa advocated for increasing industrialization of the country.

PINAR DEL RIO, Cuba. – Salvador Valdes Mesa, First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, advocated in Pinar Del Rio for increasing import substitution.

During a meeting to review the progress of investments in the agricultural sector, Valdes Mesa pointed out that the Western province possesses potential still to be exploited and mentioned La Conchita emblematic factory.

The First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers also  referred to the need to increase and diversify the exports of the territory and in a row he argued that a lot of food is still being imported, hence the importance of prioritizing all the investments linked to these productions.

Valdes Mesa said that unlike other provinces, Pinar del Rio does not report difficulties with the workforce, but some resources are missing, which will be guaranteed to conclude works with a great economic benefit.
