Havana, Cuba.-The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, to be held in the Russian city of Sochi in October, will be dedicated to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, local media reported on Sunday.

According to the newspaper Juventud Rebelde, the decision was approved on Saturday at the third International Preparatory Meeting of the event, held in Sri Lanka and attended by a Cuban delegation.

According to the first secretary of the Cuban Young Communist League (UJC), Susely Morfa, this tribute acknowledges the validity of Fidel Castro’s legacy, as he helped to keep world festivals’ movement alive from the beginning.

The head of the UJC International Relations Department, Gisleidy Sosa, told the newspaper that as part of the tribute, the program will include an exhibition, lectures and workshops on the Cuban revolutionary’s thinking.
