Travel restrictions for U.S. citizens to Cuba are rejected in Venezuela.

CARACAS, Venezuela.- The Venezuela-Cuba Friendship and Solidarity Movement rejected in Caracas the increase of travel restrictions of U.S. citizens to the island, as part of the escalation of the economic blockade by Washington.

The recent prohibitions aim to limit the option of the Caribbean nation as a tourist destination, and add to the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, Yhonny Garcia, general coordinator of that organization said.

Garcia highlighted that the intensification of measures has as its main objective to close the aspirations of thousands of Americans to choose Cuba as a place to meet their people and institutions.

The official said they seek to stifle the growing interest of business groups in the northern nation by investing in Cuba.
