CARACAS, Venezuela.- The 235th anniversary of Liberator Simon Bolívar’s birth is celebrated in Venezuela, with an extensive commemorative program throughout the country.
The activities are led by militants of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela of all municipalities, who honor the hero independence with assemblies of the political organizations of base, Bolivar-Chavez Battle Units.
Vice-President Diosdado Cabello explained that the day will allow the proposals that the members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela want to be discussed in its upcoming Congress.
Cabello emphasized that the commemorations are inscribed in the Bolivar-Chavez week to honor also the birth of eternal commander Hugo Chavez, next Saturday.
The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, celebrated the 235th anniversary of Simon Bolívar´s birth, and highlighted his legacy for the unity and integration of Latin America.
Through a message on Twitter Maduro ratified the will of the Venezuelan Government and people to continue the route of independence drawn by the liberator of the South American nation.
The head of State of Venezuela wrote: We commemorate 235 years of the birth of our Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar; giant of all time, universal reference of union and integration of peoples.
Nicolas Maduro also commemorated the naval Battle of Maracaibo Lake, on the occasion of the 195th anniversary of this historic event, transcendental for the liberation of Venezuela from the Spanish colonial yoke.
