Earthquake in Mexico.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico. – The national director of Disaster Prevention, Carlos Valdes, warned that today there are in Mexico thousands of buildings that did not fall during September earthquakes, but they are collapsed and require meticulous review.

Many of these properties are in Mexico City, where on September 19, 38 buildings collapsed, including the six-storey apartment located on Alvaro Obregon Avenue.

In the meantime, brigades of experts visit schools in that capital and other regions affected by the telluric movements, in order to certify the degree of constructive safety.

On September 30 Cuba sent a contingent of physicians, surgical specialists, pediatricians, gynecologist-obstetricians, epidemiologists, physical therapist, lab technicians, radiologists, and psychologists, among other specialties.
