BRAZILIA, Brazil.- The freedom of former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, a political prisoner for 144 days now, will again be discussed in September by the Federal Supreme Court, which rejected that possibility four months ago.

The judgement of the recourse to habeas corpus denied by the plenary of the Supreme Court to the ex-dignitary in early April will be virtual and occur between September 7 and 13, Brasil 247 digital newspaper anticipated.

The new appeal was presented by Lula’s defense on last June 28 and requests clarification on the analysis made four months ago by the Supreme Federal Court.

According to Lula’s lawyers, it was then unclear whether the prison of convicts in the second instance must be automatic or require justification in each case.
