Belgrade, Serbia.- On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution, the Cuban Embassy in Serbia offered a reception attended by representatives of the Government, parliament, political parties, diplomatic corps, and Cuban residents.

Among those present were the Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Zoran Djordjevic; the former President of the Republic Tomislav Nikolic, and the Vice President of the National Assembly, Verolujb Arsic, among other high local personalities.

The Cuban Ambassador to Serbia, Gustavo Trista, in his address to those present ,referred to the long history of struggles of the Cuban people until the triumph on January 1, 1959.

He mentioned the permanent aggression of 12 consecutive US administrations and denounced the most recent threat of the government of President Donald Trump to activate Chapter III of the Helms-Burton Act.

He also evoked the figure of Fidel Castro and his historical role in the construction of a more just society and expressed his conviction that his ideas will never disappear.

Cuban and Serbian authorities highly valued their diplomatic relations, which in 2018 reached the 75 years of their establishment
