BRAZILIA, Brazil. – Thirty-six countries and territories of Latin America and the Caribbean participate in a meeting that will contribute to the Global Pact on Refugees, which the United Nations should adopt in September.

The meeting will be led by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, with observers from other nations and Brazilian civil society entities.

The Latin American and Caribbean meeting, as a regional contribution to the Global Pact on Refugees will be held for two days at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Chancellery, and will evaluate the results of that area in terms of international protection.

In addition, it will consolidate recommendations from the experience of Latin American and Caribbean countries in this field.
