Protesters demanded more investment in public universities, while opposing a 30% cut in the sector/Reuters.

BRAZILIA, Brazil.- More than one million people protested in the 27 states of Brazil and the Federal District against the cuts in education funds determined by Jair Bolsonaro Government.

The President of the National Confederation of Workers in Education of Brazil stated that Bolsonaro´s measures are an attack on the municipalities, the States and the population, because without investment in education there is no development.

In Brazilia from a sound vehicle accompanying the march, speakers expressed their support for more investments in public universities, and against the 30% cut in the budget in the sector.

In the federal capital, the demonstrators concentrated in front of the Museum of the Republic, on the Esplanade of the Ministries and marched to the National Congress carrying posters against the measures of the Ministry of Education.
