BRAZILIA, Brazil .- In a brief message from prison to the Brazilians last Sunday, former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that Fernando Haddad’s election will be the popular response to the coup of 2016.

The text emphasizes that the victory in the ballot box of the representative of the alliance of Workers ‘ Party, Communist Party and Republican of the Social Order Party will also constitute an answer to those who then sabotaged democracy and tried to prevent the sovereignty of the popular vote.

According to the most recent research of Datafolha Institute, Haddad already occupies the second position in the intentions of vote, with 13%, behind the aspirant of the Liberal Social Party, Jair Bolsonaro.

This survey indicates that Haddad’s possibilities are broad, because 32 percent of Brazilians who claimed they would vote for Lula has said they will do it for Haddad.
