President Diaz-Cabel with American congressmen.

UNITED NATIONS, New York.- This Monday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, held a meeting with members of the United States Congress.

At the headquarters of the Mission of Cuba to the UN, before senators and representatives of the House of both parties, the President ratified Cuba’s will to promote the progress of relations between the two countries, and expressed the desire to take advantage of the potential of cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect.

Diaz-Canel said the setback in bilateral relations in recent times, and in particular the blockade, hurt the interests of both peoples, and extend the obstacles to the economic development of the Cuban nation.

He thanked the participants at the meeting for their efforts to facilitate a climate of rapprochement, while inviting them to continue working for that process.
