Havana, Cuba.- A Cuban contingent, made up of 80 builders and engineers, participates in the recovery process of the Commonwealth of Dominica, seriously affected by Hurricane Maria in September, the Foreign Ministry reported today.

The group is working on the repair of schools and houses, following the decision of the Cuban government to send builders to the small Caribbean island after a request from its counterpart from Dominica.

Since their arrival in that territory, Cuban builders and engineers have hosted the State College, the country’s main institution of secondary education, and will later support the reconstruction and repair of dwellings and schools in different areas of the country.

He recalled the Cubaminrex site that after the passage of Hurricane Maria, Cuba offered from the first moments the solidarity aid with the sending of a Rescue and Salvage Group, the reinforcement of the medical assistance with the arrival of the Henry Reeve Brigade and the donation of building materials and food.

The site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba reiterated that once again the principle of the internationalist solidarity of the Revolution is put into practice and assured that this gesture was repeatedly thanked by personalities of the government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica.
