Brazil’s Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba is working again.

BRAZILIA, Brazil. – With the attendance of political leaders, social movements and diplomatic representatives, the Brazil-Cuba Parliamentary Group of Friendship was officially reinstalled to the Chamber of Deputies.

The event was led by Member Lidice da Mata of the Brazilian Socialist Party, who took the opportunity to refute the aggressive and shameless speech of far-right President Jair Bolsonaro at the United Nations General Assembly.

Da Mata stated that the friendship between the two countries goes beyond the limits of cooperation in programs of common interest, and converges on deep cultural traditions and similarities.

During the meeting, Cuban ambassador to Brazil Rolando Gomez praised the importance of his country having international solidarity in the fight against the blockade imposed on the island for almost six decades by the United States.
