Windhoek, Namibia. – Hundreds of delegates from Zambia, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria approved the final declaration of the fifth Continental Conference of Solidarity with Cuba, which expresses unconditional support for the Caribbean island.

In Windhoek, capital of Namibia, participants discussed strategies to strengthen the role of alternative media as a tool to spread Cuba´s reality and the relevance of promoting Fidel and Che´s legacy.

They also analyzed some specific tasks of solidarity organizations to demand the end of the US blockade to Cuba and the return of the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.

The fifth Continental Conference of Solidarity with Cuba was closed by the founding father of Namibia, Sam Nujoma, accompanied by Fernando Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples and Cuban Ambassador Giraldo Mazola.
