Diaz-Canel rejects new US action against Cuba

U.S. announces new measures to intensify the blockade against Cuba.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez rejected the new measures announced by the U.S. government against the island, related to the purchase of products with American components and the leasing of aircraft and vessels.

This action expresses helplessness, moral degradation and imperial contempt, the Cuban President wrote on his Twitter account, where he reiterated that a sovereign response will be given.

Diaz-Canel also called the new actions against Cuba intensifying the blockade, as inhumane, cruel and unjust.

The regulations released this Friday by the Federal Registry of the USA, further revises the License Exception, known as Support to the Cuban People, in order to prohibit certain donations to the Government of the island and the Communist Party of Cuba.
