HAVANA, Cuba.- Exceptional Cuban singer Omara Portuondo received numerous congratulations on her 89th birthday this Tuesday, including a special one from the President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who expressed his admiration for the artist through Twitter social network.

With #SomosCuba hashtag, the President wrote in his account: Congratulations to our Buena Vista Diva Omara Portuondo on her birthday. With love and admiration.

Omara is in Spain as part of a tour she said is her farewell to the international stages, although she has reiterated this is not her definitive farewell, as she will continue singing until her voice allows her.

Omara Portuondo started The Last Kiss tour earlier this year and it includes cities in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Spain, among other countries.
