New York, United States.-Cuban gallery La Acacia culminates today its participation in the Context New York Art Fair, which brought together institutions specialized in contemporary and modern art from 50 countries.
The Cuban art gallery attended the second edition of the event with a selection of works by artists Frank Mujica, Ariamna Contino, Alex Hernandez, José A. Toirac and Meira Marrero and Plastic Guajiras (Amarilys González and Yailyn González); according to a statement released by the art marketing company Genesis.
Since May 3, the exhibition of La Acacia offered the collectors different perspectives to analyze reality from traditional forms applied to a contemporary presentation, based on the manipulation of aesthetic codes and the reception of information.
The works exhibited at Pier 94 in Manhattan were prized for their varying levels of interpretation from the drawing of landscapes, the evaluation of historical themes, symbols, and power relations.
Context Art New York is presented to experts and amateurs as an alternative fair to acquire important works of contemporary art.
In this version, held alongside the Art New York fair, the organizers aimed at promoting a meaningful dialogue among collectors, participating galleries and artists, for which they also scheduled special exhibitions.
