Cuban Alicia Alonso received in Spain the gold medal and the Friends of Music National Award that the Ciudad de Ubeda International Festival of Music and Dance grants.

For reasons of health, the director of the emblematic National Ballet of Cuba could not participate in the Spanish tour, and first dancers Annette Delgado and Dani Hernández received the distinctions in his name before starting their performance.

Mayor Antonia Olivares and the director of the festival, Antonio Sanchez gave the awards in Ubeda Bullring, where the National Ballet of Cuba got ovations because of the spectacle the Magic of the Dance.

The Cuban dance company has received favorable criticism for its performance and will continue its European tour, which includes performances in different Spanish cities, and in Italy and France, with a season in the Pleyel Hall in Paris.
