HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, strongly rejected this Monday the US Government’s decision to authorize lawsuits against the island, although Washington extended for another 30 days the full application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.
In his Twitter account, the official condemned the measure of the State Department against Cuban companies arbitrarily sanctioned by the current Administration of the White House, which described as an unacceptable threat to the world.
Since next March 19, it will be lifted the suspension of the possibility of filing lawsuits in North American courts against dozens of companies of the island.
Title III of the Helms-Burton Act allows any American citizen or company to file lawsuits in U.S. courts to claim compensation for nationalized properties after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
