Bahia-HabanaHavana, Cuba.-Community coordinators and promoters of environmental protection will organize a festival in this capital that would , start on March 24, devoted to the preservation of Havana Bay, considered a strategic ecosystem in the Caribbean.

Saint Francis square, in the Morro-Cabana Historical Military Park, adjacent to the inlet, will be the venue, for two days, the First Eastern Basin-Havana Bay Environmental Festival, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the foundation of this city.

Promoting an environmental participatory culture in the population, as well as encouraging more people to work to preserve the environment and that site in particular is one of the objectives of the event, according to the press release by the Havana Bay State Working Group, which is leading the project.

The program includes cultural and sports activities, exhibitions, research works, contest awarding ceremonies and others for children and youths.
