VARADERO, Cuba. – History and identity in audiovisual materials and digital techniques in the conformation of communicative products, will be topics in the 3rd. Cuba 2018 Radio and TV Convention in Varadero, Matanzas.
At the opening of the scientific program of the event, the Vice-President of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), Mabel Manso, said that ensuring the aesthetic value and content of audiovisual materials constitutes the great challenge of filmmakers in these moments.
The first keynote speech was in charge of the President of the Academy of History of Cuba, Eduardo Torres Cuevas, who referred to the need to think history from the present, and mentioned as an indispensable requirement the fidelity of sources.
The new generations have the responsibility to build their present and the duty to rescue the past, Torres Cuevas emphasized.
Communication at the Service of Peoples
The Cuban Revolution proposed an alternative of a different society, which benefits the majority, French journalist and professor Salin Lamrani said at the Radio and TV Convention, which concludes on Saturday.
In his keynote speech he explained how big media distort and hide the Cuban reality, a country that constitutes an example of bravery, solidarity and heroism.
The Ambassador of Bolivia in Cuba, Juan Ramon Quintana, spoke on the invisible hand of communication, which seeks to demonize the progressive processes of the region, while another presentation illustrated the experience of Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen in the fighting against terrorism in Iraq and Syria.
The International Expo-Fair associated to the Convention continues as a space conducive to the exchange of knowledge and transfer of technologies.
