HAVANA, Cuba. – A group of young graduates from the University of Information Science (UCI) give their intelligence, responsibility and delivery to the System of Management and Information of the Electoral process in Cuba (SIGEL).
An example sample of this is the project leader, Aldis Abreu Medina, who describes it as an enriching experience, a professional challenge he took pride in.
Abreu explains that the UCI is in charge of this computer application since 2012, and it allows, in real time, the monitoring of every step of the process; therefore the National Electoral Commission can follow-up on its structures, members and trainings.
SIGEL possesses security requirements incorporated and evaluated by the corresponding bodies in Cuba, a guarantee that on March 11th, the day of the vote, there are no incidents.
Technology and Timely Information
A training plan on the management and information system of the System of Management and Information of the Electoral process in Cuba has been developed in the country, toachieve on March 11 truthful and timely information at all levels.
This is assured by the project leader, Aldis Abreu Medina, who underlines that once each process is completed, they perform workshops to improve the software and study what can be improved for the next time.
From the room where young people from the University of Computer Science work in the National Electoral Commission, Lisaidi Lucia Coca, analyst of SIGEL, and specialist Lisdan Rodriguez also put their knowledge in function of the elections, in this experience they qualify as wonderful.
These young people formed in the UCI guarantee the system of management and information of the electoral process in Cuba, and constitute a fundamental support.
