Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.- Nguyen Trung Thanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, paid tribute today to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, before the monolith keeping its ashes in Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, in Santiago de Cuba.

The diplomat placed a white rose and before he bowed to the eternal flame that perpetuates the memory of the heroes and martyrs fallen for Cuba´s freedom. Later he visited the mausoleum preserving Joss Marti´s remains.

Afterwards the Vietnamese ambassador visited the Provincial Government Palace, where he expressed his country’s willingness to continue strengthening the ties with Cuba in the commercial sphere, and to share positive experiences in sectors such as health, education and sport.

At the former Moncada barracks, currently 26 de Julio School City, Trung Thanh learned about the assault on the fortress by a group of young people led by Fidel Castro.
