HAVANA, Cuba. –Victoria de Giron Institute of Basic and Preclinical Sciences presented this Tuesday to President Raul Castro, the 55th anniversary of the institution commemorative coin for his contribution to the training of health professionals.

Cuban Vice-President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura also received the award during the central act for the birthday of the center for high studies, founded by the historical leader of the revolution Fidel Castro.

The commemorative coin dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Victoria de Giron Institute was also awarded to Jose Ramon Balaguer, the member of Central Committee of the Communist Party, Jose Miyar Barruecos, official of the Council of state.

In his speech, Roberto Morales, Minister of Health, said that the history of this center is an expression of what has been achieved in the country in terms of health and education.
