HAVANA, Cuba.-The facilitation of a safe and licit commercial activity was the focus of the delegates to the 20th Regional Conference of Customs Directors General from the Americas and the Caribbean, inaugurated today in the National Hotel of Cuba.

Vice Admiral Pedro Miguel Perez, chief of the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba, opened the forum, which will end tomorrow, with the attendance of the highest authorities of the World Customs Organization.

In his initial words Perez highlighted at present cooperation and unity in action constitute imperatives of these bodies.

Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, emphasized Customs efforts in Cuba for the protection of its borders in some issues related to health and the fight against terrorism.
