Havana, Cuba.- President Miguel Diaz-Canel posted Wednesday on his Twitter account that in the first visit to Venezuela of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, he advocated for the Latin American unity.
‘January 23, #Fidel in Caracas in 1959: ‘… if we want to save the revolution of Cuba, the revolution of Venezuela and the revolution of all countries of our continent, we have to get closer and we have to support ourselves solidly, because we fail alone and divided,’ Diaz-Canel posted on his account @DiazCanelB.
The Commander-in-Chief arrived in Caracas on January 23, 1959 on a Venezuelan plane sent by the Patriotic Junta, which took office in this nation when Marcos Perez Jimenez was overthrown.
About 30,000 people welcomed Fidel Castro at the Maiquetia international airport .
