Havana, Cuba.-The people of Cuba are today paying tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, a honorable man and an example of a revolutionary who, like the intellectual Jose Marti, cast his lot with the poor of our land.

Thousands of people continue to arrive at the Jose Marti Memorial in the capital and other sites of the country, to honor the memory of the patriot and great statesman.

Cubans in each locality will also sign the solemn oath to fulfill the Concept of Revolution, expressed by the Commander-in-Chief on May 1st, 2000.

A memorial service will be held at the Jose Marti Revolution Square at 7:00 p.m., in remembrance of the the Commander-in-Chief of the Cuban Revolution who passed away on Friday, aged 90.

Statesmen and personalities from several countries, will be present, along with the people.

Among the visitors attending the service are Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, and Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China, Li Yuanchao.

Upon his arrival at the capital’s Jose Marti International Airport, Maduro expressed his solidarity with the Cuban people in these days of mourning.

Yuanchao, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, expressed his deep sorrow over Fidel’s death and affirmed that the people of his country will remain firmly on the side of the Cubans.

Cuba has been and will continue paying tribute to the Commander-in-Chief Fidel from Monday, November 28th to December 4th, when the funeral will take place at the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery at 07:00 a.m. in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba.
