
Cuba to support electrical restoration in Martinique.
HAVANA, Cuba. – Specialized forces of the Cuban National Electric Union will travel to Martinique to assist in the recovery work on the Antillean island, one of the most devastated by hurricanes Irma and Maria.
Two brigades with technical support from Sancti Spiritus and Pinar del Rio will leave this Friday to this nation, willing to support recovery as long as it takes, Lisvanet Rodriguez said, who heads the group of Cuban technicians.
For his part, Candido Lopez, head of the Sancti Spiritus Brigade, said that the experience of other phenomena that have affected Cuba and daily work, they are prepared to face the extreme situation in which Martinique is.
He highlighted that the brigades, each with five men, also travel with two trucks prepared with multi-purpose equipment, which will allow them to restitute poles, drill and work with baskets when necessary.
