HAVANA, Cuba. – Cuban sports authorities reopened this Sunday Baragua Pool Complex in Havana, as a tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, on the anniversary 91 of his birth.
During the ceremony headed by First Vice-President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, they evoked Fidel´s role of in the creation and development of the national sports movement.
Baragua pool complex is an emblematic institution that will serve as a school for the aquatic modalities of diving, swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming and triathlon.
The renovated facility has three heated swimming pools, 18 rooms to accommodate students, three classrooms and the same number of gyms, a computer lab, games room and two restaurants, among other benefits for athletes.
