SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico. – When reopening Rio Piedras campus of the University of Puerto Rico this Monday, the student movement reaffirmed they will continue their fight for public education, after a strike of 71 days.

We keep our foreheads high after having given everything, and we will go for more in this fight, the students of the State University warned, and next Wednesday they will march inside the educational center.

The students decreed a strike that was ratified at four assemblies, and decided that was the right way to undertake a continuing struggle.

The movement leaders remarked the students remain steadfast in their claims, so they urged the University Board of directors to certify the initial agreements of the Institutional Dialogue Committee, ratified at the Students ‘ Assembly of Rio Piedras campus.
