Havana, Cuba.-The 12th International Workshop of emancipatory paradigms began today in this capital, dedicated to the Honduran fighter Berta Cáceres, and to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The meeting brings together activists, leaders of popular organizations, academics, and researchers interested in analyzing the new scenario in Latin America, marked by the offensive of the neoliberal right.

This edition, taking place up to January 13, has among its activities a fair of popular and solidarity management where initiatives implemented in Cuba for the improvement of its economic model and the consolidation of its social project will be exhibited.

According to Reverend Joel Suárez, executive coordinator of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, Cuba is still a referent for Latin America, which is why the participants of this event are attentive to the transformations in this Caribbean island.

This meeting is celebrated at a very special moment for us because last year the social activist Berta Cáceres was murdered in Honduras, and also passed away the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, a permanent referent in the emancipatory struggle of our peoples.
