Following Kuczynki´s resignation, Vice President Martín Vizcarra assumes the leadership of the Peruvian State.

LIMA, Peru.-The first Vice-President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, current ambassador in Canada, would assume next Friday the Presidency of the nation after Pedro Pablo Kuczynski renounced this Wednesday the charge for his involvement in numerous corruption scandals that shook their government.

Vizcarra would be in charge of the State until 2021, after the plenary of the Peruvian Congress take the oath of the new head of State on Friday.

The head of the Peruvian Parliament, Luis Galarreta, announced that the Conference of Spokespersons of the Congress agreed to convene the plenary on Thursday to discuss the letter of resignation of Kuczynski, since the process of vacancy against him is no longer in progress.

The outgoing President is accused for his connection with Brazilian company Odebrecht, as well as the alleged purchase of votes in Congress in exchange for works in order to avoid a motion of vacancy.
