BUENOS AIRES, Argentina. – The Peoples’ Summit began this Thursday in Argentina with full support for Venezuela before the attack on the right in that country, and a call to debate on the current regional situation.

The meeting held a day before of the semi-annual Summit of MERCOSUR heads of State, and declared the leader of the organization Tupac Amaru, Milagro Sala, and another of its members, Nelida Rojas as honorary presidents in the opening day.

Although the host country of the Southern Common Market summit often supports the Forum with economic resources, this year the event had to be self-sustaining in the absence of support from Mauricio Macri´s government.

In the Main Hall of the Faculty of Design and Art of the University of Cuyo, the delegates to the meeting highlighted the importance of facing the onslaught of neo-liberalism now.
