LIMA, Peru. – Speakers in the Forum of the Peoples’ Summit denounced that the dominant sectors use Peru as a platform and spearhead of the United States, in its neoliberal counter-offensive in Latin America.

The forum and central plenary of the event parallel to the eighth Summit of the Americas, was inaugurated with great enthusiasm, and they discussed on geopolitics, corporate power and social movements.

The presentation of the Forum, held in the auditorium of the Federation of Construction Workers, was inaugurated by Ricardo Juarez, leader of the Federation of Mining and Metallurgical Workers, who welcomed the attendees.

Parliamentarian Manuel Dammert, from the progressive New Peru Movement, expressed solidarity with attacked Venezuela, with revolutionary Cuba, with former President Lula Da Silva of Brazil, victim of the manipulation of justice, and with Bolivian President Evo Moral.
