Bucharest, Romania. – The European Police Office took part in an international operation to dismantle a people traffic and money-laundering network, in cooperation with Romania and other European countries.

Security officials from the Romanian city of Pitesti arrested thirty-five suspects who were members of a highly organized criminal group engaged in trafficking young women for sexual exploitation purposes.

Simultaneously, the British police arrested three suspects and rescued ten potential victims of the criminal network, in several points of the UK.

Belgium and Switzerland also carried out police actions in support of the main operation, as well as their colleagues from the Czech Republic and Germany, while Europol provided operational and analytical support to the countries concerned.
