TEHRAN, Iran. – After a telephone conversation between Iranian official Ali Shamjani and Russian official Nikolai Patrushev, both countries agree they should be together to oversee the peace processes in Syria.

Shamjani warned that actions such as the American recent attack on the Syrian army violate the Charter of the United Nations.

Nikolai Patrushev indicated that the levels of coordination will be raised in order to use the necessary actions to oversee the truce process in Syria, on the eve of the fifth round of negotiations in Astana.

In order to advance in the agreements reached it is very important to define the processes of implementation of maintenance and supervision of cease-fire, Patrushev said and remarked that efforts to reach an agreement through political processes will have no effect.
