Paris, France.- The ALBA-TCP France group on Monday expressed solidarity with Cuba in the face of renewed US economic and political aggression that intensifies the commercial and financial blockade imposed on the island for almost 60 years.
‘We categorically reject the intention to apply, as of May 2, 2019, Article III of Helms Burton Act,’ the organization said in a statement.
It also condemned ‘the new interference’ and the application of extraterritorial laws, in order to hinder Cuba’s development.
These are sanctions that Washington wants to impose ‘in its absurd position of continuing to deny the existence of other forms of social and economic development different from capitalism, such as socialism.’
The ALBA-TCP group expressed support ‘to the Cuban government and brave and worthy people, which have decided to build and strengthen the country with more social justice and more participatory democracy with their new Constitution.’
The group also highlighted respect for the ‘essential interests of an entire people’ and how the country ‘has shown the world for more than 50 years its struggles and its tireless decision to be independent, sovereign and free from the capitalist yoke.’
